In commemoration of Kartini Day, UGM KKN students in collaboration with TK ABA Sidoharjo organized an educational activity themed “I Love the Environment: Environmental Introduction thru Nature Exploration and Waste Awareness Education.” This activity was held on Tuesday (April 21, 2026) at Unit 2 TK ABA Sidoharjo, Kapanewon Turi. The activity was attended by kindergarten-aged children wearing sports clothes. This program is designed as an effort to instill environmental awareness from an early age thru fun and interactive learning methods.
Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) once again demonstrates its commitment to community service thru the Student Community Services – 2026 Sumatera Disaster Response (KKN – Peduli Bencana Sumatera 2026) program. This program is a tangible manifestation of UGM’s contribution in supporting the post-disaster recovery phase thru a multidisciplinary approach focused on the sectors of infrastructure, health, and education. This community service activity is carried out over 30 days from late January to early March 2026.

Students of Students Community Services – Universitas Gadjah Mada (KKN UGM) rolled out two flagship programs in Selomoyo Village, Kaliangkrik, Magelang, namely the construction of a waste incinerator and training in agricultural product processing. This effort was carried out as a solution to environmental problems as well as strengthening the economy of residents based on local potential.
Health services at the village level, such as integrated health service posts (Posyandu), often face obstacles, one of which is long queues when measuring height. Manual height measurements were not only time-consuming, but also produce suboptimal accuracy. In fact, for children, accurate and efficient height measurements are very important as a basis for monitoring growth and early detection of stunting. Inaccurate data can affect the assessment of children’s nutritional status and risk delaying intervention.

Ponjong Village continues to innovate in the development of tourism villages. Through Ponjong Tourism Village (Deswita), in collaboration with students of Students Community Services (KKN) – Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) , a new tourism package in the form of a bicycle tour called “MAMPIRRA” has been introduced.

Through collaboration between Students Community Services (KKN) students and the community, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has inaugurated the Mosque Hall as a community center in Geudumbak Village, Langkahan District, North Aceh, supported by Universitas Gadjah Mada Alumni Association (KAGAMA) Aceh Regional Board and Universitas Gadjah Mada – Civil Engineering Alumni Association (Katsgama) 1996. This inauguration symbolized UGM’s commitment to supporting social recovery and rebuilding community life after the floods in Sumatra.

UGM Students Community Services (KKN UGM) students from the Gumilang Gunem unit conducted a socialization program to introduce simple technology for burning waste with minimal smoke pollution in Panohan Village, Gunem District, Rembang, Central Java. The socialization and demonstration of the use of this simple incinerator was a solution to the problem of village-scale waste management using simple tools and materials such as lightweight bricks, cement, sand, and iron.

Students of Universitas Gadjah Mada Students Community Service (KKN UGM), who were members of the Gumilang Gunem Team, carried out an information board installation activity in collaboration with the Panohan Village Government. This information board installation activity in Panohan Village originated from the lack of strategic village information, such as a map of Panohan Village, a map of MSMEs and Neighborhood Association (RT/RW) houses, the history of Panohan Village, and tourist spots in Panohan Village.

Swarna Bandar, a team of Universitas Gadjah Mada Students Community Services (KKN UGM) unit, encourages the development of coffee as a leading commodity in Kledung Village, Pacitan Regency. The efforts made by all KKN UGM students was aimed at optimizing the village’s agricultural potential, which has not been managed optimally.

Banyuurip, Rembang already has facilities for processing inorganic waste. However, it does not have facilities for processing organic waste. The community there also does not know how to process it.
Forty-seven UGM students carried out a Students Community Services (KKN) in Rembang Regency. One of the programs they provided to the villagers was making organic waste composters. They taught the residents of Banyuurip Village, Gunem Subdistrict, how to process food waste into fertilizer.
