Dr. dr. Rustamaji, M.Kes, the Director of Community Service, delivered his speech at the Reception Ceremony for the Return of Regional Coordinators (Korwil), Field Advisors (DPL), and Community Service Program (KKN-PPM) Students UGM, 1st Period 2023. He emphasized that KKN-PPM UGM is an academic activity organized by UGM as a form of learning for students to engage in community service under the guidance of field advisors.
The Directorate of Community Service through DERU UGM sent a team on May 5-6, 2023, to distribute aid to the disaster-affected communities in Cianjur Regency, West Java. The disaster, which occurred six months ago on November 21, 2022, continues to deeply traumatize the community. Some residents in the affected areas are still living in makeshift tents. They are waiting for government stimulus assistance to rebuild their damaged homes. The distribution process to the community is still ongoing in stages.
The Consolidation of DIY Poverty Alleviation is aimed at consolidating and connecting the student community service activities of each university to better contribute to poverty and stunting reduction in the DIY region. This event is a follow-up to the results of a forum involving six universities and previous meetings organized by the DIY Regional Development Planning Agency (BAPPEDA) regarding poverty reduction in DIY through student community service. The event took place in Multimedia Room 2, UGM Central Building. The Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Community Service, and Alumni, Dr. Arie Sujito, S.Sos.,M.Si represented the UGM Rector in opening the event (4/4) attended by the leaders of the LPM/LPPM and the KKN Management Chairman from universities in Yogyakarta, as well as representatives from the local government (PEMDA). Dr. Ari Sujito stated that “there are many fragmented programs that have been implemented in villages for poverty reduction, but consolidation is needed to make the work more meaningful.”
In the production process chain, packaging is one of the most crucial parts. SMEs’ products will have added value if they are packaged appropriately and attractively. SME actors must also be more careful in selecting packaging, the stages in the packaging process, and the various information that must be presented on the packaging. This is done so that the products that will be marketed are easier to understand and accepted by potential buyers.
UGM and the Serang Regency Government have committed to strengthening development cooperation in Serang Regency by applying the pentahelix concept. Development with this concept involves various stakeholders from government, academia, industry, communities or society, and the media. The KKN-PPM UGM Tanara Unit’s fourth period, held from December 16, 2022, to February 4, 2023, in Tanara District, Serang Regency, is one form of UGM’s commitment to strengthening collaboration through the implementation of this concept. The KKN-PPM UGM Tanara Unit has successfully carried out the main program of revitalizing cultural/religious tourism based on local wisdom in Tanara District. The implementation of the religious tourism revitalization program was carried out through strengthening culture by developing local arts, including organizing the Tanara Cultural Festival, which was launched on January 12, 2023.
The Directorate of Community Service at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has received a visit from their partner university to discuss the initiation of an international collaborative Community Service and Community Empowerment program (KKN-PPM). During this visit, Assoc. Prof. Yas Sugawara, Ph.D. from Yamagata University, Japan, was welcomed by the Head of the Subdirectorate for Real Work Lectures at DPkM, Nanung Agus Fitriyanto, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., along with two professors from UGM’s Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Ir. Achmadi Priyatmojo, M.Sc., Ph.D., and Prof. Ir. Irfan Dwidya Prijambada, M.Eng., Ph.D., on Thursday, February 23rd, at the DPkM Meeting Room.
Higher education plays a strategic role in disseminating technology and innovation from programs to meet the needs of society and the nation. To ensure that this dissemination runs smoothly, collaboration among universities is necessary to meet the needs of the community. Collaboration among universities can be done through Collaborative Community Service Programs (Kuliah Kerja Nyata/KKN) and other service programs. To realize this vision, Gadjah Mada University initiated the formation of a Community Service Forum to discuss these opportunities.

Nanung Agus Fitriyanto, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., received a visit from Prof. Ian Rowlands, who is a Professor and Associate Vice President, International University of Waterloo, Canada, at the Meeting Room of the Directorate of Community Service of UGM on Monday (13/2). The visit was also attended by representatives from the Directorate of International Affairs of UGM.
The Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Community Service, and Alumni of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) released the DERU-UGM volunteers to assist the victims of the Cianjur earthquake in Balairung KPTU UGM on November 22, 2022. The send-off event for the DERU team was also attended by the Director and Deputy Director of Community Service of UGM. The DERU-DPKM volunteers who departed for Cianjur were Yoseptyan Wibowo (DPKM staff), Ardian Andi Pradana (DPKM staff), Fernando Galang Rahmadana (FISIPOL), Muhammad Fauzan Firdaus (Faculty of Forestry), Wisnu Adi Nugroho (Faculty of Psychology), Mohammed Avicenna Iqbal (Faculty of Medicine), and Maya Dian Pramesti (Faculty of Medicine). They brought medicines, blankets, tarps, rice, and mattresses to alleviate the impact of the Cianjur earthquake on the victims.

It is located in Sleman and was established in May 2019 focusing on producing banana chips, granola, banana flour, banana cakes, and fertilizers from the waste generated. Cariza Khansa Pratama already has a Business Permit Number (NIB). Meanwhile, its products have a National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM) domestic distribution permit (MD) certificate, a Halal certificate, and a domestic component level certificate (TKDN) from the Ministry of Industry.
