Ponjong Village continues to innovate in the development of tourism villages. Through Ponjong Tourism Village (Deswita), in collaboration with students of Students Community Services (KKN) – Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) , a new tourism package in the form of a bicycle tour called “MAMPIRRA” has been introduced.
The MAMPIRRA tourism package invites tourists to explore Ponjong Village by bicycle while enjoying the beauty of the rural landscape and various local attractions. Along the route, tourists will be treated to lush rice fields, a peaceful rural atmosphere, and various educational and cultural activities.
In this package, tourists not only enjoy nature, but are also invited to learn about traditional music, learn about the production process at traditional herbal medicine MSMEs and tempeh factories, and visit cattle and duck farms owned by BUMKal Hanyukupi. The entire series of activities is designed to provide a comprehensive and meaningful travel experience.
The MAMPIRRA tour package combines elements of nature, culture, and education in one trip, with the aim of becoming a new attraction for tourists who want to enjoy a village-based tourism experience and local wisdom.
Currently, the MAMPIRRA bicycle tour package is still in the simulation or research and development (R&D) phase. This phase aims to gauge tourist enthusiasm while identifying the most attractive and promising routes and locations for further development.
Through this innovation, Deswita Ponjong and KKN UGM hope that the MAMPIRRA tour package will become one of the leading tourist attractions that supports local economic development and community empowerment in Kalurahan Ponjong. This initiative represents a concrete step toward supporting the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in increasing employment opportunities (Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth) and fostering innovation in the tourism industry and infrastructure (Goal 9: Industry Innovation and Infrastructure).
